Shed Some Light By Turning Off Some Light – Earth Hour 2009
Posted on Friday, March 27th, 2009
Do you sometimes feel like our elected officials are living in the dark? Do any of them actually see the mess we’ve created on our planet earth? Do we need to shed some light on global energy solutions by making the earth a little darker for awhile?
Join folks all over the globe for one hour this Saturday, March 28th, at 8:30 p.m., your local time, in an effort to enlighten our leaders by turning off the lights. Will it work?
Here in the good ol’ US of A, turning off non-essential lights for one hour is a symbolic “March on Washington.” Like marches carried out in the past, we are showing our concern en mass, this time to raise awareness of the problems with our energy creation and consumption.
The problems we’re facing if we don’t get a grip on our current energy policies are far-reaching and, frankly, terrifying. Many of you reading this have children and grandchildren. What kind of earth are we leaving to them?
Please take the time to make your own personal statement about saving our earth – this Saturday, March 28th, at 8:30 p.m. for one hour. You can vote “Yes Earth” by switching off your lights for just one hour – Earth Hour. Help show all of our children and grandchildren that we care about the legacy we are leaving them.
