With Gumby We Could Imagine The Possibilities
Posted on Wednesday, October 12th, 2011
Today we honor the man who created the possibilities for us Boomers way back when. Clay-animater and visionary, Art Clokey, would have been 90 years old today.
Google Doodle is celebrating the day with an interactive doodle you don’t want to miss. Go ahead… take a look… you know you want to.
Oh, the things we kids of the 50s and 60s dreamed we could do. Would we ever send a man to the moon? Gumby made it seem possible.
“You should see what Gumby can do today.”
If we’re all clay on a potter’s wheel like the Bible says, then shouldn’t that be our theme song, too?
Just imagine…
Thank you, Mr. Clokey.

Nice tribute, Patti! I was happy that I saw the Google doodle yesterday – it was really neat and it was neat remembering how excited we all were back when about Gumby!

I had both Gumby and Pokey as a child. Oh how I loved those little figures!

Me too, Pearl… and yes, they were so cool! Wish I still had them. 🙁 Thanks for stopping by and commenting.

I always wanted to ball Gumby up and make him into something else. Does that make me a bad person? He was just always so good.

Ah… Bodacious – I understand. 😉
