Jeanne Robertson – Teenage Daughters and Mothers – When The Truth Bites
Posted on Sunday, October 18th, 2009
Having raised a daughter, watching my sisters raise daughters, and now watching my own daughter raise a daughter, I feel I am qualified to at least laugh at the “truthiness” (thank you Stephen Colbert) of this video.
Jeanne Robertson, spokeswoman for a generation of women who find laughter heals the absurd truths of our lives, nails it once again.
Teenage daughters will always form facts to fit their desires, and mothers will always be anxious to shine the light, or at least shake their heads.
Let the sun shine in…
If you’re laughing through your tears, I’m sorry. But, I have to say again that there is no way through and back out of this black-hole that doesn’t include laughter. Mom, give your teenage daughter a hug today, whether she likes it or not.

That was awesome!! Loved it! LOL!
When I was in Dallas over the summer, my brother told me about this woman – she is a trip and a half! They only had the audio, though, so I’ll have to send him to her YouTube page – they’ll be so excited!
I’ll go hug Sammie, just cuz you say so – but, you’re right – she ain’t gonna like it!! LOL!!

There is no doubt about it. Laughter is not only good, it is an essential survival mechanism. I notice many who can not find humor in anything. They are not happy, either. You don’t suppose it is their outlook, do you? Laughter is medicine, too. It can heal or sooth. We see what we want to see and those who want to see the best, will learn to laugh. Its the best kept secret in town.
