Election Sickness… I’ll Be Glad When The Fever Breaks

Who’s tired of the election? I’ve watched more television in the last two months than I’ve watched my entire life. I’m sick of the ads and fed up with the pundits. If one more “talking head” spews one more sound-bite, I think I shall scream. I’ve already voted and thought that would ease some of my obsession, but I still find myself glued to the tube every morning in some sick accident-watching way.
When the “Best Political Team In The Universe”, whoever they may be, continues to repeat the candidates’ dialog, takes the words out of context and regurgitates them for us all to hear, we keep missing the truth. When the candidates themselves keep repeating the same old tired half-truths, we all lose. So, what and who do you believe?
I’ve begun searching for the truth behind the sound-bites by reading FactCheck.org. The information is non-partisan, which is refreshing. I watch the weekly video, as well. Its content is fair and informative. Take some time to check the site out. It made me come back in off the ledge. And really, this election will make history no matter who wins and it’s neat to be a part of that.
