During Breast Cancer Awareness Month, I use my blog to help spread the word about free and low cost mammogram programs available for women who are uninsured or under-insured.  To find the information you need, just click on the following link to my posts to find a program near you, then come on back for some fun:

October Is Breast Cancer Awareness Month

Now, you may have noticed I’ve been having a lot of fun promoting a fabulous fundraiser at Wisconsinmade.com.  This has been a great journey!  Finding this wonderful product, and company, and promoting it for such a good cause just feels right.  You can read more about how I found Wisconsinmade.com by clicking on this link:

You can also read how Wisconsinmade.com impressed my daughter, internet marketer Nicole Dean, so much with their personal touch and attention to me, that she used them as an example of how to treat affiliates.  Read it right here:

Three Cheers For Wisconsinmade.com

So, I thought you’d like to learn how this fundraiser got started and why it’s so important to Wisconsinmade.com.  Rather than have me tell the story, I invited Amanda to tell you herself.  Without further ado, here’s Amanda…

Hi!  I’m Amanda and I blog for Wisconsinmade.com‘s food-fun blog, Edible Antics.  Patti has been a great advocate for Breast Cancer Awareness, and I thought I’d take this guest blog post opportunity to share the history behind Wisconsimade.com‘s annual fundraiser.

Everywhere you turn in October there’s pink ribbons: in stores, on billboards, on the Internet, even the manly Green Bay Packers are accessorizing with pink.

Wisconsinmade.com is no exception.  We rock the pink for the month of October, and not only that, we donate 10% of Internet sales to breast cancer research, advocacy and recovery.

This year, the money will be split equally between two Wisconsin organizations: Breast Cancer Recovery and the Wisconsin Breast Cancer Coalition.

With so many businesses and organizations going pink this October and so many great causes to support, why does Wisconsinmade.com support Breast Cancer Awareness?

According to stats from BreastCancer.org, 1 in 8 women will battle Breast Cancer during their lifetime.  That statistic must be right on, because as I write this blog post, there are 8 women in the Wisconsinmade.com office, and the company owner, Linda Remechatis is a breast cancer survivor.

That’s how we got started in this fundraiser.  Not because pink is the new black or because everyone else is doing it, but because the cause hits close to home for us and so many people out there.  In fact, Wisconsinmade.com has honored Breast Cancer Awareness Month with a donation for 11 years now.

How can you help support breast cancer? It’s as easy as buying yourself a tasty Wisconsin treat, like a cheese sampler or a Kringle pastry at Wisconsinmade.com10% of all Internet purchases will be donated from now until the end of the month, which is only a few days away so act fast.

All you need to do is shop, and not just for pink stuff either – all of our 2,500 Wisconsin-made gifts are included in the fundraiser.   If you’re feeling extra proactive, you can even do your Christmas shopping and select the delayed delivery option.

Helping a good cause has never been so easy, or so delicious!

Stop by and visit us often at Wisconsinmade.com and Edible Antics. See you there!
Amanda

p.p.s.  And be sure to stop over and visit Edible Antics and read my guest post there!  Promoting a product I believe in for a cause that I really support… what could be better!  Click on and enjoy reading what created all this fun:  Edible Antics and Me

p.p.p.s.  And be sure to read how Wisconsinmade.com impressed my daughter, internet marketer Nicole Dean of NicoleOnTheNet.com so much that she used their relationship with me as an example of how companies should treat their affiliates.  Very cool, and very true.  Wisconsinmade.com, Tiffany, and Amanda made me feel special!  Thank you for helping me promote your product in such a fun and entertaining way.

UPDATE: Thanks to your generosity, Wisconsinmade.com raised over $3,200 in their 11th Annual Breast Cancer Awareness Campaign.

Good for you Miss Patti. Helping spread the word is a great thing. Thanks for your help.

    Thanks Michele aka Bodacious!

One of the things that frustrates me about all our good intentions of getting the word out about the importance of breast health is that sometimes the real issue is lost in all the noise – there are a GREAT many women who are not getting their mammograms because they are uninsured or under-insured.

I want women to know that they can get a mammogram through very well run county, state, and federal programs. Once we know how important it is, we have to take action, otherwise all the awareness in the world won’t matter.

Thanks again for stopping by my blog world. I always enjoy your company.
