Donating To Red Cross – Helping Our Southern USA Neighbors

Posted on Monday, May 2nd, 2011

Remember… our friends and neighbors in the South need help. Donate to Red Cross.

The news cycle is fickle.  Yes, even the horrific death toll of our neighbors in the South is forgotten in the media in light of the death of Osama bin Laden.  I can guarantee (having survived a hurricane) that there are people who haven’t heard the news about this yet.

They are too busy trying to bury their dead.
They are too busy trying to get medical attention.
They are too busy trying to find water and food.
They are too busy trying to find shelter.

Yes, the news media has basically moved on to another story, albeit an important story.  But, our neighbors still need your help.

We rallied when earthquakes and tsunamis hit around the world.

It’s time we rally for our own neighbors.

That’s why from now through May 15, I am donating the proceeds I receive as an affiliate for the ebook Homemade Convenience Foods to Red Cross.  Just click on any link here or visit my blog post about this ebook to check it out.

When you purchase this fabulous ebook, from now through May 15th, I will donate the proceeds I earn as an affiliate to the Red Cross for aid to families suffering from the tornadoes that ripped through the South here in America.

And that’s not all!

The author of Homemade Convenience Foods, Susanne Myers of HillbillyHousewife.com is donating HER proceeds from this ebook as well!

So, that’s $10 from this ebook purchase between now and May 15th going to Red Cross.

That’s right… the $10 will go to Red Cross if you purchase this book before May 15th.

What do you get?

The knowledge that you helped our suffering Americans.

You’ll receive that PLUS a GREAT ebook packed with information and over 200 recipes for convenience foods you can make right at home.  No need to buy pre-packaged food or stop at a drive-thru to eat fast!

Won’t you join me and Susanne in this little fund-raiser for Red Cross?  Of course you can donate to Red Cross any time, but why not let us do it for you?  Buy Homemade Convenience Foods now through May 15th and let us donate your $10 to Red Cross.

Thank you!

You know between the royal wedding and the capture of BinLaden I fear that by now a lot of people have totally forgotten about the devastation in the South.

I know, right? That’s exactly why I’m doing this. To remind people that American citizens are suffering. Over 340 people dead and over 200 still not accounted for. It’s staggering. We rally to fund-raise for Haiti. We rally to fund-raise for Japan. We need to rally to fund-raise for America.

Thanks for your comment, Michele! It’s great to see you here. 😀

Patti – you totally ROCK for doing this!!!

Thank you so much, Lisa! I’m getting quite a few orders/donations, so it was worth the time it took to get it out there. Of course, without Susanne Myers and http://www.HillbillyHousewife.com , I could never have pulled this off. She has given me A LOT of coverage AND she joined right in!

Having survived two hurricanes with multiple tornadoes involved, I know what it’s like to be isolated, scared, hot, thirsty, dirty, and hungry. Having never suffered more than that, I can’t imagine what it’s like to add on top of those “inconveniences” losing your home, or worse. I guess I got a bit upset when this “story” got lost in the 24 hour news cycle. No matter how important other news was and is, there are over 340 Americans dead and hundreds still missing. I guarantee, these people have crushing needs that are not being met because of the lack of attention.

So, again, thank you Lisa for your support! I really appreciate it. 😀
