Breast Cancer Awareness Month – Raising Money Through Fabulous Food Gifts

Posted on Monday, October 17th, 2011

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month.  But it takes more than awareness… it takes action.

If you’ve been scrolling around here for the last few years, you probably have read (or at least seen) the posts I’ve written for Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

What I have attempted to do during the last few years is to make women aware of the steps they need to take to take control of their breast health.

From self exam to mammograms, your health depends on the action you take today.

To learn more, click on these links to my posts, then come on back for some fun:

2010 – Get a Mammogram To Celebrate Breast Cancer Awareness Month

One of the important things I want women to know is that you CAN find affordable mammograms in your area.  It all starts with a search of the Centers For Disease Control and Prevention, (CDC.)  This government body administers the National Breast and Cervical Cancer Early Detection Program (NBCCEDP) which provides breast and cervical cancer screenings and diagnostic services to low-income, uninsured, and underinsured women across the United States.  Find out where you can get a low cost or free mammogram by clicking on this link:  CDC – Find A Breast and Cervical Cancer Screening Provider

Along with the CDC, there are many agencies, coalitions, and companies that take their time (and money!) to promote awareness and fund research for prevention, treatment, and recovery.

One of my favorite fund raising efforts goes right to my heart – Wisconsin food!

As many of you know, I am Wisconsin born and bred… you might even say I’m “Wisconsin Made.”  Which is why I’m so excited to learn about a great deal going on during the month of October at, what else, WisconsinMade.com
